Slime care guide

Handmade slime is a little bit alive — it changes with heat, time and play. Here’s how to keep every SlimeStunnerz slime stretchy, glossy and stunning for as long as possible.

When your slime arrives

It may look a bit melted

Slime softens and settles in the post, especially in warm weather. That’s completely normal — a few drops of activator brings it right back.

Let it rest

Pop the lid off, let your slime sit for a few minutes, then give it a good stretch and knead before you decide it needs anything.

Clean, dry hands

Wash and dry your hands before you play. Lotion, water and crumbs are the quickest way to ruin a good slime.

How to use your activator

Every order comes with a small bottle of activator. It’s what turns sticky slime back into perfect slime.

  1. Add 2–3 drops to the surface of your slime — less is more.
  2. Knead for a full minute. It will feel stickier before it feels better.
  3. Still sticking to your hands? Add another drop or two and knead again.
  4. Stop as soon as it pulls cleanly away from your fingers. Too much activator makes slime stiff and rippy.

Quick fixes

My slime is too sticky

Add activator a couple of drops at a time and knead well between each addition. Warm hands and warm rooms make slime stickier, so try again somewhere cooler.

My slime is stiff, hard or rips when I stretch it

It’s been over-activated or has dried out a little. Knead in a small pump of plain hand lotion or a few drops of warm water, a little at a time, until it softens.

My clear slime has gone cloudy

Playing pushes tiny air bubbles into clear slime. Seal the lid and leave it untouched for 3–7 days and it will turn glassy again.

My cloud or icee slime has lost its fluff

Snowy textures slowly deflate with play and time. A few drops of activator firms them back up, but they will always be at their fluffiest in the first weeks.

My butter slime feels dry

Knead in a tiny amount of lotion to bring back that soft, spreadable feel.

Slime on clothes, carpet or hair

Don’t panic and don’t scrub. Soak the spot with white vinegar for a few minutes, gently work the slime loose, then rinse with warm water. For hair, work in conditioner or a little oil and comb it out.

Storing your slime

  • Always put it back in its tub with the lid on tight — air dries slime out.
  • Keep it somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight. Never leave slime in a hot car.
  • Keep slime away from fabric, carpet, furniture and pets, and play on a clean, hard surface.
  • Looked after well, most slimes stay playable for months. Textures naturally change over time — that’s part of handmade slime.

Safety

  • Slime is not edible — no matter how good it smells. Charms and sprinkles are small parts and are not for children under 3.
  • Recommended for ages 5+, with adult supervision for younger children.
  • Wash your hands before and after playing.
  • If you have sensitive skin, try a small amount first. Stop playing if any irritation occurs.
